The short version
MonkeyApp connects two strangers in a private video call, and starting is free. This policy explains what information the service touches when you read a public page, enter a match, or keep a guest session alive. Public reading — this page, the FAQ, the guides — needs no account and collects nothing personal about you.
Camera and microphone
Video chat lives on your camera and microphone, and both are granted — and taken back — inside your browser, never inside our settings. The camera activates only after you allow it, and each call is a sealed room of two: nobody watching, nothing streamed publicly, nothing relayed anywhere else. Nothing gets installed on your device.
The technical data a match needs
Operating a live matching service takes routine technical data: basic device and browser details, server logs carrying IP addresses and timestamps, and aggregate patterns of which pages get read. A guest session holds what keeps it running — your free-match balance and any coins you hold. Coin purchases run through external payment processors, so full card numbers never touch our servers; the terms of service describe the same arrangement.
Cookies, in one paragraph
Cookies do three jobs here: they keep your session alive through a match, remember a few preferences, and tell us anonymously which pages get read. Some are strictly necessary — without them, matching cannot work at all. The complete list, with instructions for refusing or clearing them, lives in the cookie policy.
Reports and moderation
Reporting or blocking someone can attach context from that session to a moderation review, giving the crew what they need to act on abuse. This loop is how repeat offenders get pulled from the matching queue. The rules being enforced live in the community guidelines.
What stays under your control
Camera on or off, stay or leave, keep a session or erase it — you can end any call at any moment, and the tab closes whenever you say so. Asking us to correct or delete session data works through the contact page. Personal information is never sold. Not sometimes — never.
